01-Mar-02 BCS upgrade from V1.0 to V1.1:

What has changed:

1) Digital voltmeters: Added signal mean and rms readout with exponential deweighting

2) Slider bar display bug fix: Before, entering non-numeric value would result in 0.0 being entered, which can be an unsafe value depending on the slider bar. Now it the display simply reverts to its old value.

3) Limit detector program abort bug fix: A program abort works fine the first time, but if you hit run again without clearing the limit, the limit detector will not fire again. This unsafe condition has been fixed.

4) Matlab script "viewer.m", which allows time history files to be viewed, has been enhanced to allow multiple time history channels to be shown on one plot.

5) "Winsocket.dll" is no longer required to run the software. References to it have been removed from the installation instructions in the Documents folder.

To download new software from MTS's FTP site, call up an MSDOS command prompt window and type in the following commands (remember that capitalization is important!):

	ftp ftp.mts.com (or ftp 148.150.30.4)
		User: asd
Password: Guest1 (the last character is a "one", not "ell")
	cd thoen
	binary
	get bcsUpdate.exe

< wait until download is complete >

	quit

To install update: Double-click on "bcsUpdate.exe", it will create a folder called "bcsUpdate" containing updated software files. Look inside this folder and subfolders to see what files are being updated. MAKE SURE TO BACK UP THE ORIGINAL VERSIONS OF THESE FILES!! Drag the new files into the appropriate folders. The installation is now complete. Before running software, make sure to cycle power on the console or hit the Motorola PowerPC's "RST" button in order to force it to reboot and download new realtime software.

If you experience any problems with the new software, simply drag the original files you backed up into their original folders, and reboot the PowerPC.
